  Vézelay, high place of Christendom since the Middle Ages, very attended because of the worship of the relics of Marie-madeleine, becomes a point of rallying of the pilgrimage of saint Jacques de Compostelle (Spain). In 1146, Saint Bernard preaches the second crusade there. Philippe Auguste and Richard Lion Heart give themselves to it appointment for the 3rd crusade in 1190. In 1217, the first convent franciscain settles there at the place even where the second crusade was preached. Holy king Louis likes to come to collect itself in Vézelay.

  Located in Low Burgundy the commune of Mailly-la-ville extends between Yonne and the Cure.
