  Currently seaside resort very known on the Coast of Light, the port of Sand-in Olonne was founded in 1218 by prince Savary de Mauléon, and developed in XVème century, under the patronage of Louis XI who exempted it of all taxation of corns and the wines. At the end of the XVIIème century, Sand-in Olonne were the first port cod-fishing boat of France, and the activity of fishing remains always important in the local economy. Like any town of edge of sea, built on sand and exposed to the winds and the storms, the city of Sand-in Olonne could have had great difficulties for végétaliser and have flowered the city, but it knew, with intelligence, to benefit from these constraints and to propose the pleasant ones to you stroll. Lastly, the Vendée Earth, only race with the veil around the world, as a recluse, without stopover and assistance, returned the city of Sand-in universally famous Olonne.
