This limestone wall, one kilometer long and eighty meters high, has been endlessly eroded by the river and frost until it became carved of rock shelters and long and aerial terraces impressionally overhead. These natural cavities were occupied by cave dwellers approximately 55 000 years ago. Later, during the Middle Ages and up until the Renaissance Period, they gradually changed to become a fortress and protected town.

The museum holds a large collection (staff weapons, swords, daggers, artillery pieces, defensive clothing).
