Monastier-sur-gazeille
It is Monastier-on-Gazeille in Haute-Loire that R.L. Stevenson began his tour, on September 22, 1878, in destination of St Jean of Gard where it arrived on October 3, 1878. Its travel diary was published under the title “Travels with an ass in the Cevennes” in 1879. Stevenson is also the author of “the island to the treasure” and of “the strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”. You will discover the south of Haute-Loire and its typical architecture

Langogne and its region
