Follow the steps of the scottish writer robert-louis stevenson between velay and the cevennes.

Monastier-sur-gazeille  It is Monastier-on-Gazeille in Haute-Loire that R.L. Stevenson began his tour, on September 22, 1878, in destination of St Jean of Gard where it arrived on October 3, 1878. Its travel diary was published under the title “Travels with an ass in the Cevennes” in 1879. Stevenson is also the author of “the island to the treasure” and of “the strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”. You will discover the south of Haute-Loire and its typical architecture

Langogne and its region  Discover Langogne with the historical course, of the plates of enamelled lava present the principal monuments of the thousand-year-old city to you, like its church of the 12è S, its Market of the 18è S, its typical streets, the place of the monks presenting the architecture of Margeride, the old bridge… After a meal of the soil (maotche, flèque, coupétade…)you will visit the Museum living of the Spinning mill of Calquières, testimony living of an essential activity formerly.

Luc and la-bastide-puylaurent  Continuously your road you will make stage at the village of Luc where you waits his Castle, guard of the “Régordane” old way of trade and pilgrimage and from where you will have a sight on the Val d'Allier. At Bastide-Puylaurent you will be able to walk in this charming village created at last century by the passage of the railroad (Clermont-Ferrand line in Nimes) and to visit with a few kilometers the Notre Dame des Neiges Abbey.

Mont-lozère  A stage in Bleymard to visit the Saint Jean church, ruins of the feudal castle of St-Julien-of-Tournel. It is there that the National park of the Cevennes starts: reserve flora and of fauna… Le-Pont-de-Montvert located on the southern slope of Mount-Lozere, in central and peripheral zone of the National park of the Cevennes proposes to you to discover Ecomusée of Mount-Lozere and its typical lanes.
