The gravier, once an island of agen
The Gravier was once an island and up until the 14th century its shape and size fluctuated with the Garonne floods.From the time of Louis XIII onwards, it has been the site of the area's most important fairs. The esplanade was restored in 1753 and in the first half of the 19th century and today forms a pleasant promenade, which incorporates the new flood protection barrier.
