The race-course
With its 1330 m grass track and one of the best tracks for trotters (1220m) in France , the race track at Saint Galmier is the only floodlit course in the Rhone-Alps region. Each of the 15 annual meetings is a notable occasion. Founded in 1899, this hundred-year old course is a favourite with racegoers who come to cheer on their favourite horses. The course boasts covered stands, several rooms where you can bet on your horse and watch live or retransmitted coverage of the various races, a gastronomic restaurant and a café-restaurant. The course was also designed to host public events of all types, exhibitions and gala evenings. It is a unique setting for a wide range of events and is both well equipped and convivial.
