Colbert pond garden
Located on Plessis-Robinson, this pond was dug on the order of Colbert, Minister of Louis XIV, to create a vast water reserve intending to meet the requirements out of water for the ponds of Sceaux park. Today, this rain water reserve was arranged in a fishing pond and allows, along the banks, a walk within a calm and shaded atmosphere while observing the many water birds which chose to live there. Sceaux park
Created in 1937, this museum gathers art-paintings works, graphic arts, ceramic and furniture - recalling the history of the Paris area from the 17th until the middle of the 20th century. Located in the middle of the field of Sceaux, the museum is installed in the castle built between 1856 and 1862 for the duke and the duchess of Trévise, at the same place of the old castle of Colbert.In the park, certain floors and alignments carried out for Colbert by André Le Nôtre were reconstituted according to several drawings representating the gardens.
