Hauts-de-seine parcs and gardens

With nearly 40 places of interest which will give you desire for traversing its roads, its banks along the seine, and even its 180 kms of footpaths. it is also more than 7.000 hectares of parks.

Colbert pond garden  Located on Plessis-Robinson, this pond was dug on the order of Colbert, Minister of Louis XIV, to create a vast water reserve intending to meet the requirements out of water for the ponds of Sceaux park. Today, this rain water reserve was arranged in a fishing pond and allows, along the banks, a walk within a calm and shaded atmosphere while observing the many water birds which chose to live there. Fish, adventure playground for children, fountains. Surface: 3,5 hectares.

Arboretum & park of the wolves valley  In the middle of the Valley-with-Wolves park, two steps from the House of Chateaubriant, the arboretum tells the passion of the trees and charms gardens designed like tables: garden of the fruits, romantic English park... Classified during the inventory of the picturesque sites, it includes a single collection of more than 500 species of trees and shrubs distributed on 13,5 ha. 56 ha of landscape of slopes and small valleys timbered, of coppice, groves and vast clearings.  The town was discovered since some true view-points with sight on the peaks of Plessis-Robinson or the park and the castle of Sceaux. Tables of picnic, fountains, path of great excursion of country.

Island saint germain park  20 ha favourable to walking and the relaxation, dominated by the Tower with the Figures of Dubuffet. Many activities : adventure playground, table-tennis...  A market of the 19th century shelters a horse-gear for ponies and the House of environment. The "unforeseen gardens" shelter an indigenous flora.

La coulée verte, south of haut de seine  12 km length, 50 ha of parks... la coulée verte is a connection pedestrian-cycles, from the door of Vanves to RER station of Massy-Palaiseau. It is connected to the Vercingétorix Walk in Paris. Many sports and leisures activities in the common crossings.

National domaine of saint-cloud  Drawn by Le Nôtre, this field of 460 ha gardens, fountains, sculptures are dedicated to the ones who like nature.  Firm teaching where the children are accomodated in an entertaining and educational space

Park of the impressionists  Located ideally on the banks of the Seine, vis-a-vis the island of the impressionists. On 2,5 ha, the favorite plants of the impressionist garden follow one another: 250 varieties of long-lived and many varieties of shrubs, rosery. Small water part.

Sceaux park  Created in 1937, this museum gathers art-paintings works, graphic arts, ceramic and furniture - recalling the history of the Paris area from the 17th until the middle of the 20th century. Located in the middle of the field of Sceaux, the museum is installed in the castle built between 1856 and 1862 for the duke and the duchess of Trévise, at the same place of the old castle of Colbert.In the park, certain floors and alignments carried out for Colbert by André Le Nôtre were reconstituted according to several drawings representating the gardens. At the beginning of the 20th century, the house of Hanover was reinstalled in the west of the Large Channel.
