Venterol is located north of the Alps in the South, on the hillside on the left bank of the Durance. The town is part of the "Alps of Light" at 8 km from the centre of parachuting and gliding to Tallard, 20 km from Gap and 2800 hectares of the lake Serre Poncon, an hour's drive of the highest peaks Southern Alps, 100 km from Grenoble, 180 km from Marseille.
The common Venterol is composed of a dozen hamlets that make it unique: Tourniaires, Gaillaches, Perriers, Blanchet, Bôles, Urtis, Siblets, the Village, Vivians and Abrachys.
