Chasseradès to le bleymard: 13 kilometers
Pick-up at the Florac.Transfer by bus.
The hike starts at Chasseradès, a very friendly village with a magnificent church on the main square. The trail leads through the Goulet Forest where the River Lot rises.
Le bleymard to le pont de montvert: 15 kilometers
The trail climbs up towards the Mont Lozère and through the Pic Finiels, from where Robert-Louis Stevenson looked down over the Cévennes of the Protestant rebels known as the Camisards.
Le pont de montvert to florac: 23 kilometers
The trail crosses the Bougès massif (1420 meters in altitude) and then drops back down to the Tarn before reaching Florac where the headquarters of the Cévennes National Park is located.
Florac to cassagnas: 16 kilometers
Stevenson made his way into the Cévennes via the Valley of the Mimente and the historical village of Saint Julien.
Cassagnas to saint germain de calberte: 15 kilometers
The trail leads through chestnut forests where many battles took place during the Religious Wars in the 18th century, before arriving at Saint Germain de Calberte, a typical village of the Cévennes.
Saint germain de calberte to saint jean du gard
The trail follows the river Gardon through the village of Saint Etienne Vallée Française and then climbs up to the Saint Jean pass.
From Saint Jean du Gard, a bus will take you back to Florac.
