Cultural heritage
The beauty of the site of Saint-Briac, the so particular colors of its coastal landscapes attracted a number of artists, particularly the painters. Emile BERNARD, father of symbolism and true founder of the School of Bridge-Swallow-hole remained of long months with Saint-Briac where it painted many works; Saint-Briac preserved the memory of Emile Bernard by giving his name to a street of the borough. Alexandre NOZAL who regularly attended Saint-Briac during 40 years can be regarded as “his painter”. He left works which illustrate the coast perfectly as well as the back-country.
