Economic pole of the inheritance of the porcelain and the ceramicses, Limoges has also rich historical inheritance.

Visit saint-Étienne cathedral  District of the city, routes of know-how: This course leads you in the streets and lanes, parks and gardens of the episcopal City, around theSaint-Etienne Cathedral. Let's discover-it one moment since it also testifies the builders know-how, whose witnesses are still present in Limoges: Companions of the Turn of France.  The national Museum of the Porcelain: created thanks to the patron Adrien Dubouché whose museum bears from now on his name. This museum is the invaluable ECRIN of one of the most prestigious European ceramics collections. With the wire of the windows, you will discover the first testimonys of this industry as well as diversity : sandstone, earthenware and naturally most known, porcelain with the most significant series of porcelains of Limoges.

Visit the enamel museum  The municipal Museum of Evêché Museum of enamel, located in the old 18th century episcopal Palace, the Museum presents a very beautiful enamel collection of Limoges work. Gardens and glasses  Around his Palace, the Limoges Bishop had organized sumptuous gardens. During the acquisition of this inheritance by the Municipality by application of the Law on secularity, the City was found with a vast unit which became the Gardens of Evêché, great place of various walks under the frondaisons.  Visit House of Verdurier: it was initially used to store meat which arrived frozen from Argentina! This building, in the single shape of market was ordered in 1919 to Gonthier. It is visited for his splendid stained glasses of Chigot.

Chapelle de la règle  At the chapelle de la règle which was never devoted, of the introductory courses of enamel are organized for everybody.  Courses of the monuments, houses, gates, bell-towers and pinnacles illuminated : As the night falls, Limoges wears its bullfighter's costume and is discovered marvelously while following the course of the illuminated monuments.... ( 2 hours).

The city of the companions and the trades of art  Of this abbey which stand during 1000 years and left its print in Limoges history, only cantine remained upright. Formerly, the Companions took part in its construction. Today, they not only restored it, but they have just opened the underground rooms which triple surfaces of exposure thus.

Les lavandières du pont notre-dame du péteu  Les lavandières du Pont Notre-dame du Péteu : The washerwomen of the bridges On the edges of Vienna, existed a corporation of trade of the washerwomen of Limoges, placed under the protection of Our-Lady of Peiteu, of the name of batoir used for the trade.  The Furnace of the Half-cases the site includes two buildings and large furnace a 20 m height. Classified as "Historic building", it has also additional techniques with cookings and of the modern models of furnaces. The visit is a true diving in the diabolic cave of the furnaces and the working conditions of the last century.

Strange and underground  Souterrain de la règle : Limoges contains many undergrounds and cellars. it's like a second city. But, much are damaged or stopped. From the 10th century private individuals dug vast cellars which communicated between them. They were used to preserve food and to shelter external dangers. Souterrain de la règle belonged to the female Abbey of La règle now destroyed. Cellars in galleries, go down to the meeting from a rich past 2000 years.  The crypt Martial Saint : The Crypt belonged to the vast religious whole of the Abbey of St Martial, stage major on the way of St Jacques de Compostelle. Crypt rediscovery in 1962 and containing the tombs of St Martial and Ste Valerie. This space conceals also the foundations of 2 churches and many granite sarcophagi.
