From all around can be seen two houses on stilts, built over the water. Behind them, Bird Island, the channels called 'esteys' and the pathes covered with luxurious sea plants. An authentic island in the middle of the Bay, a refuge between land and water that owes it's name to the maritime birds that come here to rest and feed.

Exploring the harbour,arcachon harbor
The bay cultivates it's tradition as a privileded space for sailing and motorboating. From the beginning of yachting, the Arcachon harbor has adapted itself to welcome all nautical enthousiasts : from the beginner to the old sea-dog. With 2500 boats always afloat and moored in lines on tracks, the harbor regroups yachts, sailboats, speed boats, and 'pinasses' (the traditional, wooden boat of the Bay).

With it's immaculate sand and limpid waters, the Arguin sandbar, a natural reserve, is a deserted island anchorage. Access to the bar is open, except for signaled zones where the birds can nest in peace.

Le moulleau, a village within the town, arcachon
The Moulleau village, at the doorstep of Plya is young by it’s recent history, and has retained the widely dispersed homes, each with their own garden or parc. At the foot of the little church Notre Dame des Passes built on a dune, stretches the main axe of the Moulleau village,a pedestrian street, rich with activities and very sought out in the summer.
