Batz island

 A good idea to discover and appreciate the "leon" coast, with french commentaries, for those who might want to try their French ! And for sure a beautiful day on a Breton Island !

 Departures and returns from the 21st of June to the 03rd of September. Reservation is required. Tickets on sale at the Tourist Office of Plouescat : 9 € // 4/12 years old : 5 € // free under 4 years old.

Admire the sea and fish !

 Who has ever dreamed to walk in the heart of the sea ? Thanks to the phenomenon of tides, you can do it in Finistere !!!

 Everyday, with an interval of 6h13mn, the sea, twice a day, covers and discovers a band of sand, called "estran". The position of celestial bodies affects the amplitude of tides. When there is a high coefficient of tide, the sea is like a maritime garden, which gives you a lot of exceptional possibilities

 Looking for shells:
 It is practised in the Baie du Kernic and on the beaches. Why don’t you stop on our beaches to practice fishing? all year long during the low tide time, looking for shells is a real fun. Accessible for all, very exciting and enjoyable, it is an excellent exercise of observing the nature around.

 The community of Plouescat contains a rich variety of seascapes. The rocky creeks and sandy beaches are spread accross fifteen kilometres.

 Fine sandy beaches :
 Porsmeur (beach under surveillance, Point Passion Plage, Swimming certificates, “Seahorse and tiralo chairs”, showers) La Baie du Kernic, (Sheltered, famous site for the kite-surfers and sand yacht.....)

 • Creeks and Rocky beaches :
 Poulfoen, the Click, Cam-Louis, Saint-Eden, Menfig, Le Frouden.

Swimming school

 During the summer season, from the 1st of July to the 31st of August, the swimming school gives you the possibility to learn fastly and to improve your swimming with a monitor.

The marine race course of the kernic bay

 Trotting galloping or obstacle races are offered on a large, hard, flat area of sand. This area is, since 1882, one of France's rarest marine race courses. Plouescat's Society of Horse Racing invites you every year in August (this year : the 5th and 6th of August) at the Kernic Bay for an exciting show to share with the family or friends...
 You can even try a bet on the beach...
