Saint-Brieuc Bay, a place full of mysteries

Saint-Brieuc is named after a Welsh monk, St. Briocus, who evangelized the region in the 6th century and established an oratory there. It is one of the France's most well preserved maritime region.

  Each winter, from October at March, the bay becomes the scene of a amazing spectacle. Attracted by soft temperatures, an abundant food, approximately 50 000 birds are coming in to the bay.
  During the spring and summer period, the bay is a stop over for other migratory birds . Other birds will remain all the year or will be present only at the estival period and will reproduce in the neighbourhoods.

  From the " presqu'île de Hillion " to " Pointe de Pordic " , splendid view points are accessible by the coastal paths for walkers.

  The Museum of Art and History of Saint-Brieuc welcomes you in two pavilions. The first presents the department of the Coasts of Armor and the second is the place for temporary exhibitions. The pavilion of permanent exhibitions: daily objects, models, paintings, films..., make you discover the main features of Côtes d'Armor department, its history and customs.
