It is the most picturesque district of old Strasbourg. Previously the fishers', millers' and tanners' district, it is a haven of peace at the heart of the city. In the park, the vast and oldest of the city, is a pavilion built in 1804 in honor of empress Joséphine, who made several stays in Strasbourg.
