Natural sites in the millau region

In the heart of the natural regional park of the grands causses.

1st day : aven armand  « Suberb...fantastic....a real forest of stone » exclaimed Louis Armand in 1897. In the weak light of his lamp he guessed rather than saw the enormous lace-work of scintilating stone.

2nd day :the tarn gorges  Between Millau and Ispagnac the Tarn makes its way through a magnificent and unforgettable landscape. One of France’s most spectacular beauty spots.

3rd day : montpellier-le-vieux  An amazing walk in a strange world of rocks of the most unusual shapes.  Wind and water have sculpted an imaginary city which acts as a nursery for precious wild flowers.

4th day : the levezou lakes  Look, listen, breathe in.... you are in the heart of the Mountains and Lakes of the Levezou. What a fantastic sight before your eyes. A wonderful blend operates between the forest-covered mountains, the open pastureland and the development of 5 lakes covering a total of 1800 hectares.

5th day :dargilan  The largest underground caves of the Causses and Cevennes.  1km200 of pathway in an unbelievable fairytale world. Dargilan’s particularity is the range of colours and shapes of the stalactites and stalagmites ; the visitor leaves knowing he will never forget it.

6th day : the jonte gorges  Home to the vultures and rock-climbers’ paradise. A grandiose vision of natural rock formations, limestone caves and the Jonte Canyon with its clear water flowing between mighty cliffs.

7th day : dourbie gorges  After Saint Jean de Bruel the Doubie flows down to Nant before digging its way between the Causse Noir and the Larzac and joining the Tarn at Millau.
