  Set in the heart of the pedestrian precinct, the Notre-Dame church erected during the 15th and 16th centuries amazes by its proportions, the elegance of its High Gothic nave and by the delicacy of its porch’sculptures called »stone lace ».Sainte Therese de L’Enfant Jesus was baptized there in 1873 and her christening robe is on display in a chapel of the north aisle.The church also offers a beautiful set of 16th century stained glass windows.

  The « Musée des Beaux-Arts et de la Dentelle » presents the lace art of various european schools and in particular the famous Alencon lace, a valuable needle-made lace developed since the 18th century in Alençon.
  The collection of paintings offers a panorama of the French, Italian and Nordic schools from the 15th century to the beginning of the 20th century.
  Temporary exhibitions are organized throughout all the year.

  The Palais d’Argentré was built by Joseph Brousseau for Jean Baptiste du Plessis d’Argentré, last bishop of Sées of the Ancien Regime.It is one of the jewels of the Neo-Classical architecture in Basse-Normandie.

  At the end of the 163 steps, the belvedere displays a real show,with its so wide panorama.From the top, the visitor will embrace the Alençon plain, the Ecouves forest, the Champagne Mancelle, the Coëvrons woods and the Alpes Mancelles.
  Since 1997, even at the bottom of the belvedere, you can enjoy another sight :the paintings of Lydia Leblanc on the concrete skin of the belvedere.
