Prosper Biney based the hotel in 1863, on the old boulevard of the college. During all the XIXe century its hotel was the appointment of the good company; the professional singer Emma Calvé went down there each time it came to Rodez. In 1884, in the living rooms of the hotel the pioneers found themselves who, answering the call of Clement Cabanettes, were going to found in Argentina the colony of Piguë. This village campsite has embodied the soul aveyronnaise: bar, snack, home are beautiful old stone buildings. A footpath along a river connects us to the village Monastery. Rignac
The Aveyron is a land of character and contrast – it is the epitome of a countryside destination. There is an astounding variety of landscapes, from the dry limestone plateaux of the Larzac region, to the luxuriant green fields of the Aubrac, as you discover the vertiginous heights of the gorges and valleys of the Tarn and the highly coloured 'rougiers'of the area. Nestling on a green hillside, deep in the Aveyron, La Gazonne is situated just 600 metres from Sauveterre de Rouergue, officially classified as “one of the most beautiful villages in France”. This Sud-Ouest region of France is steeped in tradition + history and whilst being renowned for , amongst other things, it’s gastronomy + its beautiful walking country, it also enjoys a wonderful sunny climate. Our 33 chalets ( accommodating 150 guests in total ) offer a high level of comfort and are all equipped with a kitchen area ( fridge, 2 hobs, mini oven ) , shower, separate w.c., terrace with garden furniture + sunshade .
