Vibraye
"Le Chapeau Rouge" is an ancient staging post dating back to the times of the French Revolution when there were thousands of "Le Chapeau Rouge" along all the main arteriel routes from Paris. Our own "Le Chapeau Rouge" has been at the heart of Vibraye since the 1780's, just 30 years after Vibraye was burnt to the ground in 1750. Our Cave, with many original features, is built on the remains of one of Vibraye's two Middle Ages (12th Century) Churches - "Chapelle St Jacques", when the Place in front of the Hotel was some four metres lower then today and was the ancient buriel ground.
